The Story Behind Each TrailDog Member
Alex Collier
Alex serves as an instructor, teaching courses in search and rescue operations, canine behavior, training and modification, canine First Aid & CPR, and canine nutrition. Her work in canine education allows her to develop future handlers and canine professionals by combining operational best practices with evidence-based canine care.
Meghan Hetrick
Meghan is a Community Canine Handler supporting therapy and community-focused canine work within the program. She has several years of hands-on experience working with dogs in public and emotionally sensitive environments, with an emphasis on calm handling, appropriate engagement, and situational awareness.
Our Dogs
Angie von Bachbett – RE SAR-W CGC TKA
Angie is nationally certified in trailing live missing people. Angie was my first search dog and has spent the last decade learning new things with me! Angie holds a Level 3 Trailing Certification with Georgia K9. Angie loved to play agility, and assist with group obedience classes. She only decided in the last 2 years or so that she enjoys detection work. She is considering adding barn hunt to her repertoire as she enters into retirement. Angie has several live missing finds across the city.
Darwin von Bachbett – RE THDN SAR-W DS CGC TKA
Darwin is a nationally certified Search and Rescue K9 that is active in both trailing live missing people as well as human remains detection (HRD) on land and water. Darwin was the first boxer to reach Level 3 designation with GAK9. He enjoys competing in agility, dock diving, AKC Rally, trick training, and obedience. Darwin has multiple HR finds across the state and has assisted with locating several live missing people. Darwin’s favorite reward is a ball on a rope!
Kane Von Bachbett RE THDN SAR-W DJ CGCU TKA
Kane is nationally certified in both trailing live missing people as well as HRD on land and in water. Kane loves working from the boat! Kane currently has his Level 2 trailing certification through Georgia K9 and his HRD certification with L.E.T.S. In his free time Kane enjoys running cani-cross, hiking in the woods, competing in dock diving, obedience and therapy dog work. Kane has assisted in locating both live missing people and drowning victims. Kane prefers a tug as his reward!

Blue is a certified Therapy Dog working in community support roles. He is known for his emotional steadiness, people-focused temperament, and ability to remain calm and engaged. Blue balances drive with a reliable off switch. His preference for praise and physical affection make him a dependable and effective therapy partner.
Bowie | Atelier’s No Ragrets VHMP CGC STAR
In Training
Bowie is a young Boxer currently listed as “in training” for therapy and community work. He has earned his Canine Good Citizen (CGC) and is developing foundational skills appropriate for public-facing environments. Bowie is notably sweet, highly sociable, and affectionate, with a strong interest in positive human interaction as his training continues.
